Motomu Ishigaki is a director and cinematographer based in New York City, born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. At an early age, he encountered Robert Capa’s photography, which sparked his interest in visual arts. His passion toward visual storytelling led him to New York City in 2003. After earning a B.A. in Film Production from Brooklyn College, he worked for several critically acclaimed feature films including Himizu and The Land of Hope, which won awards at Venice International film festival and Toronto International film festival.
His latest film, Memoir (shot and produced by UrbanMouse) was officially selected and screened at the Miami Film Festival and La Jolla Fashion Film Festival in 2014.
