Cory Haynes, strong, athletic, hard working high school basketball phenom, knows that his game is a one way ticket out of the hood. Darryl Davis awarded Mr. All City his junior year and most sought after player as a senior can go to any college in the nation or possibly straight to the league. However, what happens when one has issues curbing his attitude towards authority while the other has deep ties to the streets? As teammates, this duo was guaranteed a city championship; however their plans are derailed when Debbie Haynes enrolls her son into a school more geared towards academics and less towards athletics. At the same time, Darryl’s street affairs land him into hot water that could possibly cost him his life. Growing up in Brooklyn is a lot harder than one may think when all that matters is how well you rhyme, how much “hops” you have, or how much dope you can sell without getting caught; while success is measured by how nice your car is, how fly your clothes look, and how popular you are with the ladies. Brooklyn has produced some of the most perennial influences but can it bring forth two more? Best friends make bitter rivals as they take two different exits on the road of life growing apart in the distance. Their reputations precede them, their talents are league worthy, but their decision making is critical if they ever want out of the hood in one piece.
This film is in pre-production and slated to be shot in Sept.
